Can I sign up without an email address?

About Cookaborough accounts

Cookaborough simplifies access to delicious food from local food businesses. When you sign up for a Cookaborough account, you can browse menus in your area, place orders and receive freshly cooked meals, ready for convenient delivery or pick-up. Cookaborough also supports eligible customers to access rebated meals through a Home Care Package (HCP) or NDIS Plan.

To sign up for a Cookaborough account, you need to use your email address. If you wish to sign up for a Cookaborough account but don't have an email address of your own, you may still be able to sign up using one of these options:

How to sign up without an email address

Option 1: Get help from a partner, family member or friend who uses email

If you have someone close to you that has an email address, you can ask them to help you by receiving emails on your behalf. If they agree, you can use their email address to sign up. It is important to understand that this will mean any emails sent to you from Cookaborough or food businesses you connect with (including menus, order confirmations etc) will go to their email inbox, and they will need to share that information with you.

Option 2: Share a Gmail email address

If you share an email address with another person (e.g. a partner) and they already have a Cookaborough account, you can't use the exact same email address to sign up. If however you use Gmail for that shared email address (e.g. the address ends in @gmail.com) then you can sign up with a Gmail "alias address".

How to sign up with a Gmail "alias address"
  1. Start with your current Gmail email address (e.g. [email protected])
  2. Add a plus (+) sign and additional text, or a number, before the @gmail.com part. For example, if your current email address is [email protected], you can enter the email address as [email protected]
This will mean any emails sent to you from Cookaborough or food businesses you connect with (including menus, order confirmations etc) will go to the original email address inbox.

Option 3: Place a phone order with the food business

Some food businesses offer the ability to place an order by phone. Contact the specific food business you are wanting to order from to ask if they are able to accommodate this.
